Murder Incorporated - In a Keg - Book by Harold J. Treherne

PETTY IRRITATIONS

From: Murder Incorporated - In a Keg

by Harold J. Treherne

Entering Theatre, 65 cents show,
Tending one dollar: - "One?"
65 cents into a dollar.
I could holler.

Meet neighbor: say, "Hello!"
Says he: "What do you know?"
Politeness secures my top.
Could I blow!

On the phone:
Mr. A - "Is he there?"
"Like to talk to him?"
Such perception, rare.

At midnight
Sunk in slumber
The telephone rings -
Wrong number.

Alarm silent,
Tomorrow to sleep.
Come 6 it bawls -
So mad I could weep.

In a store, waiting:
About to be served:
The telephone rings.
The ringer I'm berating.

Near a pay window:
Intend to draw cash:
Someone in front
Some mistake must hunt.

A can opener
Only in name,
Buy her another.
She's a mad Dame!

An urgent call
Jump in the car
Where's the key?
Hanging the hall.

Taking down recipe
On T.V.
Find ballpoint pen.
It's dry, be sure count ten. end of story
